  • Alissa Blinder, LPCC-S

    CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

    Alissa (she/they) is a queer, relational, depth-oriented, existential, feminist therapist. This means she will pay particular attention to relationships throughout your life and hold interest in the ways various attachments have impacted, and continue to impact, your experience of yourself, others, and the world.

    As a survivor of domestic violence, Alissa possesses the ability to utilize her lived experience as a tool to comprehend and safely navigate various forms of pervasive and complex abuse. She is adept at addressing dynamics commonly present in toxic family structures, as well as high-demand groups such as cults and religious organizations. Alissa's clinical approach is informed by various methodologies, including EMDR, art therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, and Health at Every Size (HAES).

    Alissa is a sensitive poet and a self-proclaimed comedian; don’t be too surprised if you find yourself laughing AND crying in your sessions! She believes an integrated balance of freedom, empowerment, love, safety, and fun are essential to well-being and it's her aim to be present with you as you discover what this might look like in your life.

  • Moxie Bauschke

    COUNSELING INTERN

    Katy “Moxie” Bauschke (she/her) MA, E-RYT is a holistic, soul-centered, relational counseling student intern from Southwestern College. With a background as a trauma-informed yoga instructor, Moxie combines her knowledge of how trauma manifests in the body with relational depth-based counseling that aims to guide the client into a more centered, calm, and balanced state of being. Moxie believes that the therapy room is a “practice laboratory” for navigating relationships in the outside world, and loves working with interpersonal relationship challenges and struggles with communication and conflict.

    Moxie is client-centered and believes in agency and choice, seeking to break down hierarchical power-structures through client self-empowerment. Moxie has experience working with teens in wilderness therapy, substance abuse, grief, spiritual experience and psychedelic integration, suppressed anger, chronic pain, depression/ anxiety, trauma, queer folx and women’s issues. Moxie recognizes the importance of cultural identity in therapy and the impacts of culture within our societal systems at large. With Moxie’s unique framework, you might just find yourself feeling more in touch with your innocent, childlike nature through a deepened state of presence and self-love.

  • Tess Bourbeau

    COUNSELING INTERN

    Tess (they/them) is a nonbinary artist and master’s art therapy intern from Southwestern College. They received a bachelor’s degree in gender studies and studio art from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.

    Tess’s practice is composed of an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed worldview. They utilize frameworks of queer theory, critical race theory, and intersectional feminism to appreciate the entirety of a person. Tess believes in empowering you as the client to feel identified with your healing, and in welcoming your authentic self to the session. They are drawn to working with members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and polyamory. They also specialize in working with neurodivergent clients and those with PTSD. They are kink-affirming, sex-positive, and a proponent of Health At Every Size. Tess’s therapeutic modalities include Art Therapy, Existential Psychotherapy, and a Person-Centered approach. Tess aims to equip clients with the tools to feel a greater sense of control and peace in their daily lives.

    In their personal artwork, Tess explores themes of mental illness, myth, and magic.

  • Elizabeth Bowers, CSW

    Elizabeth (she/her) is a proud New Mexican and has a background working with neurodivergent adults and youth. Elizabeth is a mental health advocate and believes in access to quality care for all. Elizabeth has 6 years of experience serving her community professionally.

    Elizabeth is also trained as a community support worker and is able to offer comprehensive community support services (CCSS) to the Trail Ahead community. Elizabeth is proud to be a part of the Trail Ahead Therapy team and improve the quality of life of those serves.

  • Lanaiya Chavarria

    COUNSELING INTERN

    Lanaiya (she/her) is a Masters counseling intern from New Mexico Highlands University. She obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

    Lanaiya aims to provide services that represent a safe and healing environment for clients to grow and embrace their present selves. She also values a client's cultural beliefs and background and believes that this plays a great role in identity. Lanaiya utilizes the frameworks of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered therapy to help individuals achieve their therapeutic goals. Working specifically with adolescents and adults who experience anxiety, depression, and trauma. She also focuses on providing clients with the tools to effectively cope with daily life stressors. Lanaiya values the importance of support within a person's life and hopes to assist in positive change within a client's therapeutic process. She encourages clients to create their own solutions and regain their power back within themselves.

  • Jill Gerichter, LMHC

    PSYCHOTHERAPIST

    Jill (she/her) identifies as an Earth-based practitioner accessing mind, body, heart and soul for transpersonal healing. She believes in the power of community and connection through creating safe spaces of exploration towards self-discovery and collective healing through depth psychology. She works with families, couples and individuals to support growth through relational dyadic work. She believes in co-creating sacred spaces, where collaboration and exploration can occur. Her goal is for clients to feel acknowledged, seen, valued and heard meeting each person where they are at in their present moments, supporting authentic expression. She works from a systems lens acknowledging the intersection of culture, society and family impact on personal and collective experiencing.

    Jill graduated from Southwestern College in 2022 with a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling. She works from an integrative approach drawing from various theoretical lens, where she trusts that each person has the innate tools and a unique genetic make-up of body intelligence to support sustainable change. She engages in a holistic framework, working from a trauma informed lens. Her intention is to provide unconditional love and support.

  • Stephanie Malouf, LMHC

    PSYCHOTHERAPIST

    Stephanie (she/her) embodies a holistic approach to counseling, weaving together humanistic, trauma-informed, client-centered, nonjudgmental, and somatic approaches. Graduating from Southwestern College with a Master's Degree in Counseling in 2023, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice.

    With a deep belief in the inherent capacity for growth within each person, Stephanie fosters a safe and compassionate environment where clients can authentically explore their narratives. Drawing from her understanding of the profound impact of trauma on mental and physical well-being, she guides individuals towards empowerment and self-discovery, honoring their autonomy in the healing journey. Through her own experiences and a commitment to empathy, Stephanie shares tools and insights to support others in overcoming challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.

    Outside of her practice, Stephanie finds solace in reading, yoga, leather working, and immersing herself in the natural beauty of New Mexico, enriching her ability to connect with clients on a deeper level.

  • Benjamin Miller, LMHC

    PSYCHOTHERAPIST

    Benjamin (he/they) is a heart-centered, client-centered therapist who operates from a deeply felt belief that there is immense healing medicine and wisdom within our body, mind, heart, and spirit. With clients, he works to empower their access to their inner medicine, while also lovingly observing any barriers around it. He supports clients to discern what they wish to unfold within their life, in order to strengthen their creativity, hope, and capacity for love. His approach to therapy integrates a balance of self-exploration with observation of how familial, cultural, and societal structures affect the human being.

    He graduated from Southwestern College with a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Art Therapy in 2022. He has worked with many clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. His practice employs the use of art therapy, depth psychology, narrative therapy, trauma-informed awareness, somatic processes, and dreamwork, while continually exploring to learn more.

  • Tianna Skordilis, LMHC

    Tianna (they/them) identifies as a non-binary, queer, artist, and Art Therapist. As a therapist, Tianna has a collaborative approach to therapy creating space with clients that feels supportive, grounding, and safe.They believe in a holistic approach to healing which integrates mind, body, and spirit. Tianna empowers clients to discover internal resources that allow for authentic self-expression, growth, and healing. They use trauma informed approaches that take into consideration a person’s life experiences, cultural backgrounds, and social/societal influences. In session they facilitate exploration of anxiety, depression, complex trauma, attachment, identity, intimacy, life transitions, and interpersonal challenges with nonjudgement, honesty, and compassion.

    Tianna graduated from Southwestern College with a Masters Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling in 2023. They are also certified as an Ecotherapist from the New Earth Institute. Through this knowledge they seek to creatively explore the ways in which people relate to each other, nature, and the healing potential that lies within those spaces. Tianna incorporates frameworks including feminist theory, attachment, relational therapy, DBT, mindfulness, transpersonal psychology, depth psychology, and other person-centered approaches.

  • Megan Velasquez, PhD, LMSW

    Megan (she/her) believes that every person has a natural capacity to heal and that our present experience derives from our individual developmental histories and also collective and societal causes of suffering. Megan accompanies clients on their personal and unique paths to healing, through deep listening, co-regulation, and support of the mind-body connection. Starting from where we are at present, Megan will work with you to help locate your voice, make meaning of experience, and transform what does not serve.

    Megan works with common symptoms of trauma, anxiety and depression using cognitive- behavioral and psychoeducational techniques with mindfulness and somatic body-based tools to help regulate the nervous system and increase awareness and self-acceptance. Megan aids clients to find belonging, trust the good that is innate within, and live from their truest, wisest selves. Megan has a special affinity for working with grief and loss, with pre-, peri- and post-natal parents and caregivers, and youth and young adults.
